Oops....

It was friday night. The crowd sat in silence, awestruck by the magnificence of Faith Christian's Fiddler on the Roof. We began to sing our final musical number, Anatevka. "A pot, a pan, a broom, a hat....someone should have set a match to this place years ago." The orchestra played a small interlude. The cast listened, waiting for Luke to say his line when the time came. The music stopped, and Luke spoke, but the words we heard were not what we expected. "A stick of wood..." There was a slight pause as we scrambled to think of something to say. Justin said the first thing that came to mind. "A bench." I followed with, "So what's a tree?" Rebecca finished with, "Or a stove." Hooray for improvisation. Without a doubt, that was the funniest thing that occurred during the past four days. Thank you, Luke, for adding a spark of humor to the otherwise stressful (but successful) play week.

The Future

I have been asked by many people what I'd like my future career to be. In all honesty, I have always wanted to be a fighter pilot. That's the closest thing this world offers to flying an X-wing, which was my first (and sadly unachievable) choice. Alas, my eyesight is not good enough. I have been told that even Lasik surgery may not completely correct my poor vision. So as of right now, I'm still unsure. Thank goodness I have one more year.

Golden (Well Actually Orange) Oldie

Imagine this in bright orange, with a black soft top, a winch, silver running boards, big tires with white spoke rims, a kick-rear sound system, and a whole lot of friggin' sweet. Currently under maintenance/construction, it's a 1969 Toyota Land Cruiser, not a Jeep. So when you ask me, "How's the Jeep coming?" I'll probably ignore you. That's like calling a Harley a Goldwing. You just don't do that. So, if all goes according to plan, I'll be driving it by this summer. Woot.

Updating is for Weenies

I have been asked by someone, who shall remain anonymous, (IT WAS LARA) to update my blog. Therefore, I dedicate this post to said anonymous person.

Ahem....

So anyway..................um.................what was I saying? Oh yeah. This is a story as told by Cameron Fox.

"One time, I had a white bunny rabbit. I named him Browny. He ran away, and I never saw him again. It makes me sad. (vigorously scratch head)"

The End.

Re-Evaluation

Joey Wright.....he's a great guy, isn't he? Today, he told me to evaluate myself, determine the motives behind my "hopes." Were they God-honoring? Were they centered around some trivial earthly thing that honestly doesn't matter in the whole scheme of life? No, and yes. I had my hopes centered on someone, but not on God. I need to change my focus. That's not to say that I'm giving up on my hopes. I'll still try to make the best of it, but I'm going to use God's help. I'm going to make a choice that will please Him.

Just Out of Reach.....

Have you ever had high hopes, only to realize that you cannot ever reach them, that they're just out of reach? My hopes had been centered around a possibility that turned into an improbability and now an impossibility. I hate it when reality kicks in, hits you on the head with a large blunt object, and then says, "Get over it." Sigh.....a boy can dream can't he?
